The Perfect Closet: shopping guide to winter sales

During Sales periods as well as seasonal closet resets times, the first and inevitable fatal thought of almost every woman is: I really have to fix this mess and make my entire wardrobe!

After the summer or winter break, in fact, it is not uncommon that the old autumn and winter garments, until then folded into containers and forgotten in a happy limbo, suddenly appear inadequate, outdated, worn or unfit for their physical. How did he like it so much that old sweater mangy ...? How could let me in that skirt so tight and that dress so short ...? How could I go on without that bag / jacket that / those shoes, last winter ...? If you warn the urge to "make you new wardrobe" and create a perfect, flawless, elegant but low cost, but comprehensive in capsule version, know that it is not entirely impossible.

Let's face it, women cyclically fall into the one harassing problem in their lives: what shall I wear? I need something new, cool, trendy and fashion!

Just like a cooking recipe, in order to create your perfect wardrobe, you'll need 3 main ingredients:

#1. Awareness of your physicality (and how to enhances it): it is the first rule to apply when it comes to handle shopping intelligently and effectively, with no impulse buying unnecessary stuffs and wasting money. Knowing your body and the types of clothing and accessories that can enhance your body and your appearance the best, you absolutely need to know how to buy your new clothes with reasonableness, limiting your shopping to that, you can be certain, will wear every day.

#2. A budget: having a definite idea on how much are you able to spend will help you achieve your perfect shopping in a shorter time and with less stress and sense of guilt. If you can determine how much money you want to spend to recreate your perfect wardrobe (or to rearrange it after careful selection of your old clothes), you'll know in which shops to buy, what period and time of the year (keep an eye on the increasingly frequent balances mid season!) and how much to spend on average for every purchase ... with a hint of flexibility!

#3. A project: as with any adventure, you have to have a plan! Start your shopping for a perfect wardrobe with a set of guidelines of what you want, what you need and what is good for you will help you in achieving your specific goals. The first and the second ingredient, the awareness of your physicality and the need of setting up a budget, are up to you, your personality, your finances. About this third, however, here is a little help!

This guide will surely help you to find out how to create your perfect wardrobe starting from some basic clothes and accessories, shopping basics and must have for all budgets and all tastes!

PULLS

Let's start from the top: sweaters, tops and pullovers. We all tend to assume that create a complete outfit with solid colours is much easier. For this reason, buying top of the mat colours, like black, grey, beige, white and powder pink, it will help you compose your daily outfits with great ease of pairing. The basic tones of the wardrobe are always perfect and with other neutral colours (black with grey, white with cream, etc) and with the vibrant colours and patterns. In addition to basic colours, you can give yourself a coloured or printed sweater to pair with jeans, skirts and a basic black trousers.

SHIRTS

Never underestimate the importance of a nice shirt: it can look classic, clean and professional under a jacket, casual with a sweater or very chic with a pair of elegant trousers and high heel shoes.

When buying, focus on 4 main types of shirt or blouses: the classic white shirt, even more comfortable and feminine blouse in a version without a collar, to be worn under a formal blazer; the denim shirt, impeccable and casual under a cardigan or worn on its own; an extravagant shirt, with special neck, with bow or knot to be worn without jackets or sweaters to create stylish outfits; the sleeveless shirt, especially comfortable under a sweater, without the ugly "bundle" effect on the arms!

GARDIGANS

To complete the "top-wear" autumn outfits and give yourself some variation of colours and fabrics, it is advisable to add some basic cardigans. A classic cardigan slim fit with buttons can be comfortable, with or without a shirt, to wear with jeans for everyday or with a formal skirt to wear at the office. Even a softer and sporty cardigan, as well as a simple cardigan without buttons and a feather duster long, can be worn every day, at work and social occasions.

TROUSERS

Let's move down: it's time to cover up your legs! You do not need to own hundreds of pairs of pants to be able to survive the winter. You will be surprised to learn that you actually need of 4 pairs-types only to wear based on the colours and social opportunities.

If you love sporty or casual outfits jeans are the must-have trousers. A pair of jeans in light shade colour and one in darker shade will be enough for your everyday looks with boots and sweater or with shirts and blazer for an office look. Another must have is the classic blacks pants: you can choose the model that best fits and enhances your body shape to create your most stylish outfits, casual or formal. Finally, a fourth pair of trousers from the neutral tones, beige or grey, will be useful to vary your combinations and create simple outfits in a few minutes. If you do not love denim, replace a pair of jeans with elegant trousers, plain or with print.

SKIRTS AND DRESSES

For a perfect basic wardrobe you might be amazed to know that you need is two skirts and 2/3 dresses to play your looks with.

A winning choice usually is that of the grey, dark like charcoal grey, or more neutral and bright as the light grey, always perfect with black, with white, with bright colours and even some shades of beige and light brown. One formal skirt and one elegant, however, it is good to choose it in black: it would be worn also with evening looks.

A casual dress can be the classic dress knit or wool, in cream-coloured or beige: you can wear it with everything! Choose a simple linear model, with no frills, for a more formal look, a dress that will help to wear it for any elegant or formal occasion, the party with friends at the important ceremony, varying only the accessories, make-up and hairstyle.

COATS

Baby, it's cold outside! Do not forget coats and jackets! 4 is again the magic number! All you need is a black or dark grey coat, worn with everything you own in the closet; an elegant coat, maybe coloured or with details and extravagant finishes to be worn with the finest clothes; a parka or a sport jacket, warm, hooded, in shades of brown or military, for the most demanding days or in the rain; a black blazer or a stylish jacket for formal events and chic parties.
